Anthelios SX

and Europe's best sunscreen Mexoryl, has finally arrived. The FDA
recently approved the sunscreen, called Anthelios SX in the US, which
combines ecamsule with octocrylene and avobenzone. Octocrylene is
primarily a UVB (short-wave radiation) absorber and avobenzone (Parsol
1789) has been considered one of the best UVA (long-wave radiation)
filters, but it starts to break down when exposed to the sun. Ecamsule
contributes to the mix by helping to increase and stabilize UVA
protection. It does not break down in sunlight. Together these three
ingredients cover virtually the entire UV spectrum known to cause skin
damage.
