Over the past few years, the cosmetic surgery industry has progressed and evolved through several stages as more and more people want to undergo procedures to look younger and rejuvenated. Doctors and scientists have been working hand in hand to ensure that modern cosmetic procedures are effective in producing desired results. One of the results of modern-day cosmetic evolution is the creation of the Dermaroller.

What Is a Dermaroller?

A Dermaroller is an instrument made of a plastic roller head that is covered in several hundred tiny superior-quality titanium needles. These needles have been designed in such a way that they are long enough to just penetrate the outer surface of the skin’s epidermal layer.

How Does a Dermaroller Work?

The Dermaroller’s needles cause micro-injuries on the surface of the skin. These micro-injuries serve several purposes.

Primarily, they stimulate the skin’s healing process in order to help boost the production of elastin and collagen. The new elastin and collagen protein improves the person’s complexion, reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

The needles also work to create hundreds of small channels in the patient’s skin. These micro-channels carry skin care or hair-restoration products farther down in the skin layers, allowing for maximum absorption.

What Is the Treatment Like?

First, a DermaSweep treatment is used to exfoliate dead skin cells. This process involves the use of bristle technology and vacuum suction. After this, the Dermaroller is gently rolled over the skin of the patient’s face in four directions. Very little pressure is applied, and the medical professional will make sure that the roller is not pressed harder than the patient can tolerate.

Once the Dermarolling session is complete, a layer of serum is applied to the patient’s skin. This therapeutic serum can contain a variety of nourishing substances to revitalize the skin.

This procedure is simple and can be conducted by an experienced medical professional in four to six short treatments. Around two to four weeks should pass between each treatment.

Dermarolling has been known to produce effective results starting a couple days after treatment, with full results becoming evident after several weeks as collagen grows.

What are the Benefits of Dermarolling?

Dermarolling has been shown to have numerous benefits. The most common result of this procedure is youthful-looking plump skin. The increase in collagen and elastin protein heals the surface; this results in your skin becoming more elastic, plump, and youthful looking.

Dermarolling is a great way to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles as well as broken capillaries and other blemishes. Dermarolling also helps to get rid of the bags and dark circles under their eyes.

Thanks to modern-day science and medicine, many people are satisfied with the Dermaroller treatments and frequently return to extend the results of their procedure.
