Dr. Pinski on Fox News

Dr. Kevin Pinski was recently featured on Fox News Chicago to discuss the hidden dangers associated with no-chip manicures. The popular shellac manicure trend uses UV lights to harden the enamel, exposing women to dangerous UV rays, which can lead to an increased risk of skin cancer of the hands.

Here is an Excerpt from the Article

“In fact, a 2009 study in the Archives of Dermatology found two women got skin cancers of the hand after years of bathing under these lights. And even though it’s only 5 to 50 watts of UV light, Dr. Kevin Pinski said it’s comparable to a tanning bed.

“Sun damage to our skin is cumulative, your skin doesn’t forget,” Dr. Pinski said.

“Not to mention, UV exposure ages your hands. Now some salons are turning to LED lights.” Dr. Pinski said a simple solution is to lather hands in sunscreen.”

"From the minute I called to make an appointment everyone was warm and welcoming. Loved that I didn’t have to wait a year to get in to see someone."
