JUVÉDERM® is the #1 dermal filler collection in the world that offers 5 different products including JUVÉDERM® JUVÉDERM® Ultra, VOLLURE™, VOLBELLA®, and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® to treat a vast array of facial concerns . Juvederm® products can instantly add volume to plump lips, smooth lines, or lift & contour cheeks. Patients looking to reverse signs of aging and restore volume to certain areas of the face may be a good candidate for Juvederm®.
Juvederm® is indicated for the correction of the “parentheses lines” or nasolabial folds on the face. It is also used to restore volume to other areas such as cheeks, cheekbones and lips. Juvederm® is comprised of an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) gel that is naturally found in our own bodies. The gel then combines with water and slowly breaks down over the course of time and is naturally absorbed by our bodies. With Juvederm® injectable gel, Dr. Pinski can customize natural-looking results based on your individual concerns. Juvederm® Ultra is used to smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles and for lip enhancement. Juvederm® Ultra Plus is thicker and is used for shaping facial contours, correcting deep folds and for fuller enhancement of the lips.
Depending on your area of concern, your provider will be able to analyze your facial structure and make recommendations on how much and where to fill areas with lost volume. Treatments can last from six months up to one year with one visit. However, patients may need to return after 2-6 weeks to “fine-tune” their initial visit in order to achieve optimal results. In some cases, duration of the filler may be shorter or longer as each patient’s body breaks down hyaluronic acid differently.
Juvederm® treatment results can be seen immediately by volume being restored for a more youthful, revitalized appearance. Talk to your provider about the desired results for a customized Juvederm® treatment that fits your needs.
The procedure is very quick and easy! A topical numbing cream is applied to the site prior to treatment for added comfort. Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising at the injection site that lasts anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Cold compresses can be applied post treatment to reduce any potential side-effects. Camouflage makeup may also be used, and most patients can return immediately to work and resume normal activities. We recommend that patients avoid Aspirin, Vitamin E supplements and alcohol for 5 days prior to any injectable procedure to minimize the risk of bruising. The doctor will discuss your medical history at your office visit to rule out any contraindications to this product.
Filler helps with restoring volume to areas, but sometimes additional treatment like Botox® or Dysport® may be needed to help soften some excess muscle contractions which result in the formation of lines. Treatments to help the epidermis and general skin health such as Dermasweeps, chemical peels, laser resurfacing and a customized topical regimen will help accentuate the injectable treatment. The combination of multiple skin therapies can effectively treat a wide array of signs of aging.
