Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite) is an FDA-approved filler indicated for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (nasolabial folds), for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss. Radiesse® is used to restore collagen and lost volume in various areas of the face. Radiesse® can also be used to correct volume loss in the hands. When it comes to lifting and defining the face and hands, Radiesse® can help by stimulating your body’s own natural supply of collagen. If you feel like you have begun to experience loss of volume & elasticity and struggle with deeper lines and wrinkles, you may be a good candidate for Radiesse®.
As we begin to age, our natural collagen starts to break down and begins to produce skin laxity, wrinkles and a more “hollowed” appearance. Calcium-based microspheres and gel (Radiesse®) immediately provide a lift to the skin that restores a more youthful appearance. Another benefit is that Radiesse® stimulates your own collagen, in turn providing longer lasting and natural results.
Depending on what your area of concern is, Dr. Pinski will use his keen eye for aesthetics and facial symmetry to analyze and make recommendations on how much and where to fill areas with lost volume. Treatments have been clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.
Radiesse® results can be seen immediately and volume is restored for a youthful, revitalized appearance. The benefits of Radiesse® continue by naturally stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. Talk to us about the desired results for a customized treatment regimen that fits your needs.
The procedure is very quick and easy. Prior to filler injections, a numbing cream is applied to the site. Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising at the injection site that lasts anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Cold compresses can be applied post treatment to reduce any potential side-effects. Camouflage makeup may also be used and most patients can return immediately to work and resume normal activities. We recommend that patients avoid aspirin, vitamin E supplements and alcohol for 3 days prior to any injectable procedure to minimize the risk of bruising. The doctor will discuss your medical history at your office visit to rule out any contraindications to this product.
Filler helps with restoring volume to areas, but sometimes additional treatment like Botox® or Dysport® may be needed to help soften some excess muscle contractions which result in the formation of lines. Treatments to help the epidermis and general skin health are Dermasweep, chemical peels, laser resurfacing and a customized topical regimen. The combination of these therapies can be very satisfying to effectively treat signs of aging from various angles.
